From The iTunes Library Toolkit is a general purpose iTunes library toolkit, which will greatly simplify the ongoing maintenance of your iTunes library. The following functions are part of the toolkit: New Media - detects new media under watched folders and adds them to iTunes. Dead Links - removes references to media files which no longer exist from your iTunes library. Update Attributes - detects modified attributes in the media files and updates the iTunes track attributes to match. Custom Browse - allows you to generate iTunes playlists in a folder structure based on media attributes (tags), or based on the source folder/file structure. This provides a new customisable way to browse your media library hierarchically. Generate Catalog - allows you to generate a web-ready HTML catalog for your entire media library (example using vanilla theme).
allows you to run any or all of the above functions as automatic background tasks. The Automate function leverages the power of the core functions. Once you have configured the settings for the core functions to your preference, the Library Toolkit can be left running in the background, monitoring your system and performing the library organisational tasks completely automatically as it needs to. This means that you can add new media files to your chosen media folder structure and they will be added to iTunes automatically (and optionally organised into configurable playlists).
Delete media files and they will be removed from the library. You can even move your media files around, rename them, or their folders, and the Library Toolkit can synchronise these changes automatically with the iTunes database (retaining dynamic user-based information like Rating, Playcount, etc).

ITunes Library Toolkit (for Windows) has been developed by the makers of iTunes Folder Watch, a well established and proven iTunes utility. The iTunes Library Toolkit will greatly simplify the ongoing maintenance of your iTunes library. The following functions are part of the toolkit:. New Media - detects new media under watched folders and adds them to iTunes.
Generate Catalog - allows you to generate a web-ready HTML catalog for your music library with embedded youtube-instant links ( using vanilla theme) - it is fast and responsive even for large collections. allows you to run any or all of the above functions as automatic background tasks.
Licencing To fully appreciate all the features that the Library Toolkit has to offer, we invite you to download it and try all the features for yourself - it is free and fully functional for one month after installation.
Following the trial, licences are issued on a simple per-machine per-year basis: Licence for one year on one computer: £3.99 (GBP) Each licence purchase must be made via the option provided in the software, from the machine which you wish to tie the licence to. A licence entitles you to priority email support, which is available via the Help menu within the application. An annual licence is now preferred to a 'lifetime' licence because this software is wholly dependent upon the continued availability of iTunes and its open API (something outside our control). How is it different to iTunes Folder Watch? ITunes Library Toolkit contains more functions, it's a complete package for all your library maintenance needs, with a simple user interface fronting a powerful engine. Is dedicated to a single core task, that of detecting and adding new media to your iTunes library, and as such it offers more fine-grained and advanced control of this function (e.g.
An unlimited number of watch folders, manual control of the additions, and the ability to manage exceptions). The licencing model is also different - Folder Watch is a single price for as long as you need it, the Toolkit is a lower price but renewed anually. Why can't the toolkit attach to iTunes? This is invariably a problem with iTunes itself, not registering its API (application programming interface) properly.
Normally the API can be kicked into life by stopping iTunes, then running the command iTunes.exe /regserver from the Start/Run box. If this fails, open a command window (in administrator mode if available), locate your iTunes.exe, and type in 'C: Program Files iTunes iTunes.exe' /regserver (change the path to match the location of your iTunes.exe) and hit enter. How can I get support? If you have any problem with the toolkit's features and need to contact support, please write an email to [email protected] with details of the issue via the Help/Email Support option. If you have a repeatable error then it would be a good idea to send us a log file for analysis: to do this restart the toolkit via the 'Run In Diagnostics Mode' option from the Start menu, this should open up a log folder (C: ProgramData on win7) in which it should generate a log file named LibraryToolkit.log. Then if you can reproduce the issue, close the toolkit and attach the log file to the email and this will help us greatly with the analysis of the problem to allow a faster turnaround. This program is a companion for iTunes (versions 6 onwards). Are you frustrated that iTunes does not automatically detect new tracks in certain nominated folders and add them to the library automatically? This program does exactly that. It allows you to set up 'Watch Folders' and to evaluate whether there are any new tracks in them which do not exist in iTunes, and allows you to add them selectively or fully automatically. It can be run as a taskbar process and so will continually monitor the watch folders, alternatively it may be run in the foreground on demand. The majority of features are available on the trial version, but to open up the full features and to remove the nag screens, please consider purchasing a licence, which can be done via the Help menu. A lifetime licence costs 7.50 EUROS.

Are you having a specific problem? As for this report I can only tell you to stay out of the System and Library folders at the root of your hard drive. Avoid deleting anything you know nothing about.
If you have software you wish to remove then read this: Uninstalling Software: The Basics Most OS X applications are completely self-contained 'packages' that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process. Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.
Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the '-' button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/. If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead. Download Easy Find.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a '.pkg' extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed. There are many utilities that can uninstall applications. Here is a selection: AppZapper Automaton Hazel CleanApp Yank SuperPop Uninstaller Spring Cleaning Look for them. For more information visit and read the FAQ on removing software.
